Greek Super League, Matchday 11 Previews (vids)

Previews

Iraklis v Atromitos

Hraklis new head coach Savvas Kofidis changed a lot team's mentality and this is totally clear, as they escaped with the draw from Karaiskaki Stadium against Olympiakos last week. They are facing Atromitos today, a team that will fight until the end to avoid relegation. Tuma, Iliadis and Bosnjak are important first team players that return for the hosts and Hraklis is the favorite here. I will pick home win draw no bet (DNB), as I don't think Atromitos can get the three points here.

Panathinaikos v Asteras Tripolis

Everything but the home win will be a huge surprise for me. Panathinaikos is counting 5 wins in 5 home matches, they have the best attack in the league and Asteras Tripolis will miss some very important players like the defensive midfielders duo (Orasio Cardoso and Bastia). Next week Panathinaikos is playing against Olympiakos in the "el classico" of the Greek football, so they don't want to miss any points before this match! Home win... for sure

Panionios v Panthrakikos

Here we have a match between two teams with a totally different form. Panionios with four wins and a draw in last five matches, they seem to know how to take the results at the moment. Estoyanoff, team's playmaker and best player will start the match and this is a plus for the hosts. Panthrakikos is the worst team in Superleague this season and I doubt if they can save their face and avoid relegation. They released some players this week and they also have many players missing for this match. Home win with medium stakes, odds around 1.50.

PAOK Salonica v ARIS Salonica

The big derby of Salonica. History gives advantage to PAOK (6 wins, 2 draws in last 8 matches) but the two teams have the similar problem: Scoring. They struggle to score easy goals and most of their matches end up in Under 2.5 goals (7/10 for Aris, 6/10 for PAOK). I don't think that we can expect something different here: Under 2.5 and draw at half-time are my picks.

Kavala v AEK Athens

This is a difficult match to predict but in my opinion AEK can avoid defeat here. Kavala's coach Papakostas left the team, despite the fact that the team is the surprise of the season so far. The hosts are missing some important first team players like Onouachi and Oikonomou and it would be very interesting to see the reaction of the team after the coach's departure. The most possible result seems to be the draw.

2:1 Final Score

Description

Xanthi v Levadiakos

Both team have made a very bad start in the season, but Xanthi is a little better team than the visitors and they have the advantage here. This is not a reason though to pick the home win at odds around 1.50, because Xanthi is facing big scoring problems in Superleague so far. I prefer under 2.5 goals, in similar odds like home win, as I think that Levadeiakos would not score and the hosts can't score more than two goals.

1:0 Final Score

PAS Giannina v Olympiakos

This is a very difficult match for the Champions. Olympiakos is missing many important players and that means that coach Zico must use some young players once more. They don't luck in quality, but they are very inexperienced. PAS Giannena is always a strong team when playing at home and I expekt a very close game without many goals. Odds around 1.50 at away win have no value at all as the visitors will also be thinking the following match for Champions League against AZ Alkmaar in Holland. NO BET.

2:2 Final Score
