German Bundesliga Previews; Matchday 13

Previews

The German Bundesliga this week:

  • 21.11.09 15:30 VfL Wolfsburg : 1. FC Nürnberg
  • 21.11.09 15:30 VfB Stuttgart : Hertha BSC
  • 21.11.09 15:30 FC Schalke 04 : Hannover 96
  • 21.11.09 15:30 1. FC Köln : 1899 Hoffenheim
  • 21.11.09 15:30 Eintracht Frankfurt : Borussia M'gladbach
  • 21.11.09 15:30 SC Freiburg : Werder Bremen
  • 21.11.09 18:30 Borussia Dortmund : 1. FSV Mainz 05
  • 22.11.09 15:30 FC Bayern München : Bayer 04 Leverkusen
  • 22.11.09 17:30 Hamburger SV : VfL Bochum 1848

FC Schalke 04 : Hannover 96

Rakitic will play instead of Holtby for Schalke. For Hannover, Cherundolo is injured and Bruggink returns after injury and probably Djakpa slips back again on the left. Fromlowitz will be the goalkeeper after the sudden death of Robert Enke.

I predict that Schalke will win this game and maintain their race to the championship. Hannover is in shock after Enke’s death and I don’t think it is going to be easy to make a comeback, especially away, with opponents like Schalke. Home Win.

SC Freiburg : Werder Bremen

For Freiburg, Mujdza or Makiadi are alternatives to unfit Cha due to international duties. In midfield, Caligiuri is an option for the starting lineup. For Werder, veterans Frings, Borowski and Pizarro are unable. Jensen should be back in the starting lineup.

Werder are in the first few places in the table, strong enough to fight for the first place. They are able to score consistently and still remain tight at the back. An away win and over two goals. Possible result : 1-2

Borussia Dortmund : 1. FSV Mainz 05

For Dortmund Sahin will probably play and there is still hope for injured Blaszczykowski. For Mainz, Van der Heyden is out due to a bout of flu.

Borussia are struggling to play good quality football. Mainz is the most solid team in this year’s Bundesliga. I predict a draw with 1-1 or 2-2 in this game.

FC Köln : 1899 Hoffenheim

4-3-3 instead of 4-4-2 for Köln which in defence changes to 4-1-4-1? If Schorch is ready to play after his bout of flu, then there is no question about the defenders. Ibisevic, Salihovic and Beck are not at their best through tiredness after their International game. If Ba and Obasi are ready for first team duties then Hoffenheim’s system will change to 4-2-2-2.

Köln have found a formula to start winning, even though the wins have been very tight. Hoffenheim is still a great team but has some injury problems. Köln can take this one and stay away from trouble. Home win.

Description

Important Info for the rest of the games:

VfL Wolfsburg : 1. FC Nürnberg

Misimovic probably will fulfill the playmaker role for Wolfsburg. Kahlenberg, or Dejagah maybe, will play in the same position also, which will be decided by the coach after today’s training. If Mintal doesn’t start for Nurnberg then the question is, who is going to play in attack with Bunjaku?

VfB Stuttgart : Hertha BSC

With Cacau far behind in recovery the question to be solved regards the attack, Marica will probably play for Stuttgart. Also it is still not certain whether Babbel will start with Hilbert or Gebhart. Piszczek moves to the midfield to help the playmakers for Hertha.

Eintracht Frankfurt : Borussia M'gladbach

Caio may start the game for Eintracht, who have no injuries. Bobadilla is injured for Gladbach, Daems is unfit and Matmour is the alternative for unfit Colautti in the attack.

FC Bayern München : Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Toni’s position is threatened after his criticism of the coach. Altintop could get a chance with Robben on the bench. Adler is back in goal for Bayer and for Bayer, it’s the same 10 who played against Eintracht.

Hamburger SV : VfL Bochum 1848

Hamburg have a mountain to climb especially in attack. Hamburg are without strikers and the only one left is Torun who will probably start. VfL Bochum: Instead of 4-2-3-1 they will change to 4-4-2. Grote moves to the midfield.
